HOW TO ROCK THE T-SHIRT DRESS
If there's one closet item that everyone owns, it's the classic t-shirt. I'd be preaching to the choir if I were to list out all the reasons why tees are a closet staple. Nothing beats the comfort of a nice fitted tee paired with your favorite denims. But sometimes, you find yourself in the mood for a dress and, with that thought, I'd say the best evolution since the invention of the t-shirt would be the t-shirt dress!
The t-shirt dress is absolutely amazing for so many reasons: you can beat the heat in the summertime, you get to wear a dress but actually be comfortable in it, it's so easy to layer in the fall, and it looks absolutely effortless and chic EVERY DAMN TIME.
I wore this outfit while exploring San Francisco last month with friends. I love the ease and comfort that a t-shirt dress provides, especially when I'm travelling. We took these photos at Clarion Alley, one of my favorite graffiti alleyways in SF. Click here to check out my outfit from the last time I was there!
My take on this t-shirt dress from Urban Outfitters was to give it an edgier spin. I put on some fishnet tights, layered my arms with gold bracelets, slung a leather backpack over my shoulder, and strutted my way around town with some all-black, Converse Chuck Taylor All Stars.
But there are so many other ways to rock the t-shirt dress! Below are some awesome examples, especially for the fall weather.
WITH A DENIM JACKET
A T-Shirt dress is perfectly paired with a denim jacket for that extra bit of warmth this fall. Not only that, when you tie it around your waist it gives your body that extra bit of definition and curve that can get lost in the boxy silhouette. Look at how cute Julie from @sincerelyjules styles her outfit!
WITH A LONG CARDIGAN AND OVER THE KNEE BOOTS
Love the way this model styles her shirt with a long cardigan for extra warmth and sleek over-the-knee boots. A simple t-shirt really looks elevated and edgy!
Have you tried out the t-shirt dress yet? If so, let me know how you style them in the comments below. The variations are endless!
Be on the lookout for some spooktastic posts to follow for the holiday season. So excited for them! Wishing you a lovely rest of the week.
